一直以来，老外滩都颇受影视剧组青睐。其中，于2019年播出的电视剧版《七月与安生》、2020年播出的电视剧《三十而已》、热播的抗疫主题电视剧《在一起》都曾在老外滩取景。

自2017年开始，老外滩商业管理有限公司对进驻老外滩拍摄的影视剧组进行信息备案，截至目前，已经有袁弘主演的《绝不松开你的手》、蒋欣主演的《守婚如玉》、刘涛和涂岩松的《幸福从天而降》等五十余部影视剧在老外滩进行拍摄。
